Just a couple of changes we’re watching this week: LinkedIn officially launches Groups and Facebook rolls out “Instant” experience engagement tools.

LinkedIn officially launches their new LinkedIn group experience

  • Putting an emphasis on users building professional communities on the platform, Linkedin has officially launched it’s group experience
    Linkedin has announced in the new group experience you will now be able to post images, videos, reply to comments, edit your own comments and receive group notifications

Facebook launches holiday themed product ad overlays to create more engaging and dynamic ads over the holiday season

  • This is a response to Facebook seeing over 450M reviews related to holiday themed content last year
  • The overlays are also customisable so users can create assets like themed price tags
  • Facebook reports that two major retailers who trialled the new features saw a 40% increase on return in ad spend
  • Facebook also has budget conscious business owners in mind, and have released a video creation kit for easier mobile-first ads

Facebook rolls out new engagement tools for instant experience ads

  • Facebook has announced a series of new templates for the newly updated instant experience ads
  • Facebook has stated the following layouts will be rolled out to users:
  • Instant Storefront, helps businesses sell products in a grid format
  • Instant Lookbook, enables businesses to display products in the context of a lifestyle image
  • Instant Customer Acquisition, helps businesses drive customer action by displaying offerings and including a clear call to action
  • Instant Storytelling, uses images and video to give people a better feel for your brand
  • Instant Form, lets people easily share their contact information to learn more about your offerings
