There’s never a dull moment when you work with social media. YouTube’s taking copyrighting seriously while LinkedIn gets serious with their ads manager. Snapchat gets a piece of the influencer “pie” and Watch Parties are rolled out to Facebook Groups.

Improved functionality with LinkedIn’s redesigned campaign manager

  • Social Media Today LinkedIn reports that LinkedIn has launched an updated campaign manager, which helps users manage multiple campaigns at once and measure their performance
  • The updated campaign manager includes a range of new tools which will help you track and report campaigns
  • LinkedIn has released a blog stating the new tools include:
    • A new ad reporting system, which allows users to make quick adjustments to the ad to improve results
    • They’ve updated the apps search capabilities, which makes loading the data and switching between campaigns much faster
    • Updated search capabilities
    • One click campaign breakdowns, which includes in-depth insights into your campaigns performance
    • You can now personalise your reporting experience by choosing metrics you prefer to focus on

YouTube tweaks premium subscription

  • Marketing Dive announces that YouTube is testing a new distribution model for Premium subscribers to entice more subscribers
  • YouTube Premium allowed users to stream videos ad-free, however Marketing Dive reports new exclusive content will be released such as the upcoming basketball docu-series “Best Shot,” which is produced by NBA star LeBron James. Episodes will be released each week but will have ads.
  • Youtube original shows are also going to become 20+ minutes due to the demand of longer-form content

  • Instagram launches topic channels in Instagram’s ‘explore section’. These channels will show the different categories of posts that users can browse collectively
  • You can now video chat in direct messaging

  • Instagram question stickers, encouraging engagement amongst your followers
  • IGTV Creators Handbook: a 50 page handbook that explains how to use IGTV and how to get the most out of it
  • You can now manually remove unwanted followers from your public account

Snapchat launches new program to pair brands with influencers

  • Snapchat seems to be testing out new ways to boost its revenue by tapping into the influencer marketing with the launch of their new program ‘Snapchat Storytellers’
  • Social Media Today reports Snapchat Storytellers, which aims to connect brands to influencers for potential content collaborations

Facebook officially launches Watch Party

  • After months of Facebook testing Watch Party, Facebook has officially announced they are launching across the globe
  • Essentially, Facebook Watch gives users the same interaction to users as Facebook lives do
  • Facebook has said: “once a Watch Party is started, participants can watch videos, live or recorded, and interact with one another around them in the same moment”
